God Will Take Care Of You

“Be not dismayed whatever betide,

God will take care of you.

Beneath His wings of love abide,

God will take care of you.”

“He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings will you find refuge. His faithfulness is body armor and shield.” – Psalm 91:4

Comforters

“Blessed be the God of all comfort;

Who comforts us

in all our tribulation,

that we may be able to comfort them

which are in any trouble,

by the comfort wherewith we ourselves

are comforted of God.”

II Corinthians 1:3-4

Stayed

Stayed upon JEHOVAH,

Hearts are fully blessed –

Finding, as He promised,

Perfect peace and rest.

Think On These Thingsūü§Ē

“… Whatever is true,

whatever is honorable,

whatever is just,

whatever is pure,

whatever is lovely,

whatever is commendable,

Thanks for Everything

” LORD, I thank You¬†for everything¬†in my life;

the good, the bad, the easy, the hard, the joys, and the pain,

I thank You for all of it.”

‚ÄúIn everything give thanks: for¬†this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.‚ÄĚ

First Thessalonians 5:18

The Good Doctor

When they saw Him eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples,

“With tax collectors and sinners He eats?”

On hearing this, Jesus said to them,

“Healthy people don’t need a physician, but sick ones do.

I did not come to call righteous people, but sinners.”

Here’s to Hugs and Kisses

  Hugs

Reduce harmful physical effects of stress;

Calm deep pressure on children, tantrums, and mellows moodiness;

Help the body’s immune system, cures depression, and induces sleep;

Invigorate and rejuvenate

Increase heart rate and stabilize blood pressure;

Give a positive emotional state;

Bring out a surge of serotonine and dopamine, which are known as ‚Äúfeel¬†good‚ÄĚ brain chemicals.

Relieve pain, make you healthier and happier;

Help to overcome fear

 Kisses

Good for the heart, as it creates an adrenaline which causes your heart to pump more blood around your body.

Stress-reliever, lowering your cortisol ‚Äėstress‚Äô hormone.

Endorphins produced by kissing are 200 times more powerful than morphine.

Reduces anxiety and stop the ‘noise’ in your mind.

Increase the levels of oxytocin, an extremely calming hormone that produces a feeling of peace.

Great for self-esteem.  Make  you feel appreciated and helps your state of mind.

Those who kiss quite frequently are less likely to suffer from stomach, bladder and blood infections.

Those who kiss goodbye each morning live five years longer than those who don’t.

Patient Endurance

“Remember the former days

When, after you were enlightened,

You endured a great struggle with sufferings.

Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten,

Sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things.

You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail,

And when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy.

You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord.

Remember the great reward it brings you!

Patient endurance is what you need now,

So that you will continue to do God’s will.

Then you will receive all that He has promised.”

Hebrews 10:32-35

Tree of Life Version and New Living Translation

The Garden

garden
I come to the garden alone.

While the dew is still on the roses.

And the voice I hear,

Falling on my ear,

The Son of God discloses.

He speaks and the sound of His voice,

Is so sweet the birds hush their singing.

And the melody that He gives to me

Within my heart is ringing!

And He walks with me,

And He talks with me,

And He tells me I am His own!

And the joy we share…

As we tarry there…

None other has ever known.

-Charles Austin Miles

Shielded by Favor

“Let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice:

Let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them:

Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou surround him

As with a shield.”

Psalm 5:11-12

Crazy Faith

Image result for crazy faith

There was a time when, my family, friends, and neighbors would have thought that¬†“Crazy Faith”¬†would be a¬†perfect title¬†for my autobiography! :)

I know that this is true, because once, when I was in the final months of my pregnancy, (you know, the pregnancy that I prayed 10 years for), I overheard my husband talking to a neighbor, saying; “We all thought that Faith was losing her mind!… While she was struggling with her health and praying for another baby, her mother and sister would call and say, “We’re¬†really¬†concerned about Faith..”¬†¬†They thought that I was going crazy!!!¬†He had never told me this before, so when I heard¬†it, I laughed, and said, “That’s OK… They thought that Noah was crazy too, but it sure did rain didn’t it? So, I’m in good company!”

It all began¬†15 years earlier,¬†when I read Luke 8:48, ¬†Daughter, your faith has made you whole…”,¬†and¬†from that moment on,¬†¬†there was no turning¬†back for me… I believed it.

Of course, I myself,¬†don’t think it’s “crazy”, but lots of people might consider it crazy to believe for something that seems¬†impossible. Reading those words as a 24-year-old, and believing that God had spoken to my heart, “fueled” me to move forward in faith,¬†convinced and certain,¬†that God would bless me, despite my physical circumstances.

Is there something that you would like for God to do for you, but you¬†think that it’s¬†impossible, or not important enough, or too big, to ask for?..¬† Ephesians 3:20 says that God is¬†“…able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think,¬†according to the power that worketh in us,..”¬†¬†The power at work in us¬†includes our faith! ¬†Many times when Jesus healed someone, he said, “according to your faith be it unto you”, or “your faith has made you whole.”

Even if it makes you look “crazy” to those around you, or, if¬†it’s just a secret request that you haven’t mentioned to anyone else, ask God what you will, and believe with “crazy” or unexplainable faith that, “with God… nothing is impossible.”

Smiles and Blessings,

You Know Better Than I

Image result for give it to god

I put up a fight
And told You how to help me
And just when I had given up
The truth is coming clear

You know…Better Than I
You know…The way
I’ve let go…the need to know why
‘Cause You know Better Than I

If this has been a test
I cannot see the reason
But maybe not knowing
Is part of getting thru

I tried to do what’s best,

and faith has made it easy

I see the best thing I can do

Is put my faith in You, for

You know…Better Than I
You know…The way
I’ve let go…the need to know why
‘Cause You know Better Than I.

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

You Can Change

Image result for butterfly coming from cocoon
…Sometimes pain’s the only way that we can learn
You can never fall too hard, so fast, so far
That you can’t get back when you’re lost, where you are,
It’s never too late, so bad, so much,

That you can’t change
Who you are, you can change who you are,

You believe in freedom,
But you don’t know how to choose
You gotta step out of your feelings

That you’re so afraid¬†to lose, and everyday,
You put your feet on the floor…got to walk through door

Its never going to be easy
But its all worth fighting for

You can never fall
Too hard, so fast, so far,
That you can’t get back

When you’re lost¬†where you are,
Its never too late, so bad, so much
That you can’t change who you are

You can change who you are.

So let the ashes fall where ever they land
Come back from wherever you been
To the foot of the cross
To the feet of Jesus
To the feet of Jesus

You can never fall too hard, so fast, so far
That you can’t get back when you’re lost
Where you are

It’s never too late, so bad, so much

That you can’t change

At the foot of the cross
It changes who you are
At the foot of the cross you can change
Who you are.

You can never fall
Too hard, so fast, so far,
That you can’t get back.

Smile!

“A smile costs nothing, but gives much”
It takes but a moment, but the memory of it usually lasts forever.
None are so rich that can get along without it-
And none are so poor but that can’t be made rich by it.

It enriches those who receive, without making poor those who give-
It creates sunshine in the home,
Fosters good will in business,
And is the best antidote for trouble
And yet it cannot be begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is of no value
Unless it is given away.

Some people are too busy to give you a smile-
Give them one of yours
For the good Lord knows that no one needs a smile so badly
As he or she who has no more smiles left to give.

A Winning Attitude

“My daughter told me this little story about a video clip she saw at school, and I just had to share it with you, so here it is…”

Alone in a baseball field. A boy swings his bat and says...”I’m the greatest hitter in the world!” Swish! He misses.” Strike One”

He tries again, raising his bat and throwing the ball in the air, as he yells out “I’m the greatest hitter in the world!!” and again he misses. “Strike Two”

He tries again for the third time, screaming with unfeigned enthusiasm ” I’m the greatest hitter in the word!!!” and he misses again. ¬†“Strike Three.”

This time he pauses, drops his head to think for a moment, then raises his eyes to the sky as he smiles and shouts with excitement…

“Whoa!!! I’m the greatest pitcher in the world!!!”

Love it!  :)

Have a great day.

Suffering

For our light affliction,
which is but for a moment
worketh for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory.
2 Corinthians 4:7

Suffering may endure for a season

And we wonder when relief will come.
Is this for a time of testing
A really deep trial for some?

Day by day we endure our heartaches,
Often questioning why,
We don’t seem to fully understand
And we come before God with a sigh!

“Just quiet yourself in My presence,” He says,
“I have blessings for you in store,
This time with me will be precious,
Even more than ever before.”

The wonderful promises in God’s Holy Word
Bring comfort, encouragement and peace,
And as we nestle up close to Him.
Our Faith brings sweet release.

So let us joyfully praise the Lord,
If, through suffering we can learn,
Truths that will help to guide our way,
And His Word more clearly discern.

Through The Storm

O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home.

Under the shadow of thy throne,
still may we dwell secure;
sufficient is thine arm alone,
and our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
or earth received her frame,
from everlasting, thou art God,
to endless years the same.

A thousand ages, in thy sight,
are like an evening gone;
short as the watch that ends the night,
before the rising sun.

Time, like an ever rolling stream,
bears all who breathe away;
they fly forgotten, as a dream
dies at the opening day.

O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come;
be thou our guide while life shall last,
and our eternal home

Comfort Food

During the most painful and trying times of my life, I discovered that reading God’s Word gave me the deepest peace and greatest comfort. I often say that during those times, I read my Bible so much,( morning, noon and night), that I actually “ate” God’s Word. ¬†I really delved deeply into it, and read as if my life depended on it, because I believed it did… I “ate” God’s Word and ¬†was comforted… God bless you.

Can You Sing a Song?

Can you sing a song to greet the sun,

Can you cheerily tackle the work to be done,

Can you vision it finished when only begun,

Can you sing a song?

Can you sing a song when the day’s half through,

When even the thought of the rest wearies you,

With so little done and so much to do,

Can you sing a song?

Can you sing a song at the close of the day,

When weary and tired, the work’s put away,

With the joy that it’s done the best of the pay,

Can you sing a song?

I’ve Still Got It!

It’s “Throwback Thursday” and here’s a story that I posted back in the Spring. I hope that it puts a “spring in your step” and a smile on your face today! – Faith ¬†

One day last week, my daughter told me that right in the middle of class, her teacher, “thirty-something”, mother of two, did a cartwheel right in the middle of a lesson, and cartwheeled right back to her original position and said, with a great big smile on her face,¬†” I’ve still got it!¬†and the whole class just roared with laughter! I thought to myself, “Wow! How great it must feel to be so free at heart, even in the midst of a busy workday, right in front of a ¬†class full of fifth-graders, turning cartwheels!”

For me, this teacher’s exclamation of ¬†“I’ve still got it!” implies so much more… It not only speaks of her impressive physical capabilities, but also of her ability to seize the day, enjoy the moment, and keep the “kid” inside alive!

“I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

In the day when I cried thou answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul.

All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.

Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Trusting God

To trust in God means that He is our confidence; our minds are at rest, as we rely on His word, His integrity, His veracity, His faithfulness, and His unfailing love.

We don’t often hear stories about King Hezekiah, but he is one of my favorite examples of trusting in God. II Kings 18:5, says that Hezekiah trusted God like no other king before or after him.. What a wonderful way to be remembered, as someone who truly trusted in God. In the face of danger, at the threat of war from Sennacherib, king of Assyria, and even after the prophet Isaiah warned him that he would soon die, Hezekiah prayed to God, trusted Him to hear and answer, and God delivered him every time!

King Hezekiah’s sincere, unshakable, trust in God, serves as a great encouragement and example for us today, as we face life’s trials and difficulties. Like him, we too can be assured, that God cares, He hears our prayers,He sees our tears, and will not fail to deliver us, as we place our trust in Him.

Last night, while putting away the last of the chicken wings that had not been devoured by my  food-lovin’ family, I thought about  how some habits or problems can be  like leftovers following us into the new year. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind leftovers,  especially like pizza for breakfast, but what about leftover issues, feelings, and disappointments, from last year, that are still  hanging around, and keeping us down? You know what happens to leftovers in the fridge when they’ve been around too long. They start to stink, and not look so good, and most of all they aren’t any good to you anymore. Bad habits, deep-seated hurts, and other problems can be just like that.

Sometimes we carry leftovers over from year to year, and sometimes they can add up for a lifetime. Imagine a lifetime of leftovers just sittin’ around in your fridge! Yuck!  But let’s be honest, sometimes that’s how it is…

A Time of Reckoning

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time, are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18

To reckon, is to establish by counting or calculation, and today, as I struggle with  pain and limitations as I recover from surgery, I am reminded that, in calculating the number of difficulties and painful events that have occurred in my life, I am encouraged and inspired to think of what God has in store for those who love Him, those who are called according to his purpose.

Paul, in reckoning all of his pain and suffering, just lays it out there for us in II Corinthians 11:24-27;

“… five times received I forty stripes save one. I was beaten three times with rods, stoned once, three times I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by my own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, (that’s me today, lol ), in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.”

I don’t suppose that many of us can say that we’ve suffered to this extent, and I’m in no way trying to belittle anyone else’s experience, yet Paul kept moving forward and I’m so glad that he did because during these tremendous hardships, He wrote most of the epistles of the New Testament. Most of them from prison.

In light of all of this, and considering the hardships that we may be facing, we too can reckon that none of it compares to the glory that shall be revealed in us, as we, like Paul, keep moving forward and looking up…

Bad habits, deep-seated hurts, and other problems can be just like that.

Sometimes we carry leftovers over from year to year, and sometimes they can add up for a lifetime. Imagine a lifetime of leftovers just sittin’ around in your fridge! Yuck! ¬†But let’s be honest, sometimes that’s how it is with leftover hurts….

When I was a very little girl my father left us…. He went off to fight in Vietnam, and afterwards he¬†deserted his wife and four kids; ages four, three, two, and eight months. I was the oldest, and I remember feeling devastated…. deserted.¬† For years as a child I would patiently stand in a corner at the front window, hoping to see ¬†my daddy come home, but sadly, all that came were my own quiet tears.

Despite this great disappointment, we had a happy childhood and upbringing. My grandmother sold all that she had, and came to live with us. This way my mom, who is a nurse could work full-time,while my sweet grandma took care of us, and made our home a cozy, wonderful place to be.  Even so, from year to year, for many years I carried the leftovers of hurt and rejection that resulted from our father leaving us.

When I went off to college, I took all of his old record albums with me. Music from the 60’s that he left at our house. The music was over 20 years old but I liked listening to them. I guess it made me feel like I still had a part of him with me.¬† Carrying this hurt around, caused me to become overly cautious, and suspicious of guys that I would date, not making any true connections, and completely intolerant of their¬†short comings. My mom grew concerned, and said that she thought that I was over cautious about ¬†guys, because of what happened with my dad. She thought that I might need some counseling. To this I simply replied, “There’s nothing wrong with me, there’s just something wrong with them!”

I was nineteen by this time, and it was not long after this conversation with my mom, that I met the man who would become my future husband. ¬†My emotional ¬†leftovers and baggage, made it difficult in the beginning of our relationship. I felt vulnerable because I had never had my heart-broken before, and I realized that this was someone who I actually cared a lot about. Someone who could break my heart if he left me… Could I trust him??? The leftovers lingered on.¬† Eventually, over time, ¬†I realized that our love was mutual, and years later it was actually my husband who helped me to leave those leftover hurts behind.¬† He said, “Your father didn’t leave you because there was something wrong with you, he left because there was something wrong with his priorities as a father. This is about him not you.”

This sounded right to me, and I was led in my heart to forgive my father. As a Christian, I realized that in forgiving my father, and truly letting go of those past hurts, I would finally be free. Free of perfectionism, and fear of rejection, free to enjoy my life ,and move forward…¬†Just free! ¬†No more stinky¬†leftovers.
