Temple Cleansed

“In the Temple, He found the merchants selling oxen, sheep, and doves; also the                     moneychangers sitting there. Then He made a whip of cords and drove them all out…”           – John 2:14-15

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me…”

This week, as I remember the events leading up to the crucifixion, I reflect on how Christ “cleansed the temple”of moneychangers and how, because of His love, and by His blood, we too can be made clean and renewed by His Holy Spirit.

“You Called My Name”

birds flying in the sky during daytime

“I was buried beneath my shame… Who could carry that kind of weight?

It was my tomb

‘Til I met You.

I was breathing but not alive… All my failures I tried to hide.

It was my tomb

‘Til I met You.

You called my name

And I ran out of that grave

Out of the darkness

Into Your glorious day!

Now Your mercy has saved my soul…Now Your freedom is all that I know.

The old made new, Jesus, when I met You!

You called my name, and I ran out of that grave.

Out of the darkness,

Into Your glorious day!
