There is a Fountain

“There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins;

And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains;

And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day; And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away.

Wash all my sins away, wash all my sins away;

And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its power Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more.

Be saved, to sin no more, be saved, to sin no more;

Till all the ransomed church of God be saved, to sin no more.

E’er since, by faith, I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die;

Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.”

Despised and Rejected

“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Isaiah 53:3-7

In Three Days

” Jesus answered and said unto them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”Then said the Jews, “Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou build it up in three days?”

“But He spake of the temple of His body.”

 John 2:19-21

God So Loved The World

“There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:”

“That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

John 3:1-15

Jesus Is The Cornerstone

“THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED IS BECOME THE HEAD OF THE CORNER: THIS WAS THE LORD’S DOING, AND IT IS MARVELOUS IN OUR EYES…” Mark 12:10-11

Temple Cleansed

“Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God,

… For ye are bought with a price…”

Corinthians 6:19-20a

Once we commit our lives to Christ, our bodies become the temple of the Holy Spirit.

David prayed in Psalm 51 saying, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” He asked the LORD to come in, and cleanse his “temple”, and then, he asked the LORD to renew a right spirit within him.

This week is holy week, and as I remember the events leading up to the crucifixion, I reflect on how Christ “cleansed the temple”, and how, because of His sacrafice, and by His blood, I too have been made clean, and by His Holy Spirit, a right spirit is renewed within me.

Thank You, Lord Jesus.

Hosanna!

“And they brought the colt to Jesus, and put their garments on Him; and He sat upon him.

And many spread their garments in the road: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strewed them in the way. And they that went before, and they that followed, cried saying,

“HOSANNA; BLESSED IS HE THAT COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!”  Mark 11:7-10

And I Know Why

God placed Adam and Eve in a garden, and I know why!!! :)

garden

I am a writer, and I love blogging, but long before I became a blogger, I was a gardener… I absolutely love it! This morning I got my first gardening magazine for spring, and I felt like a kid at Christmas. I love looking at the  pictures and my heart pounds with excitement when I imagine all of the beautiful things that could be a part of my own garden.

Just as the LORD placed Adam and Eve in such a beautiful and peaceful place in the beginning, we too can live in beauty and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. And one day we’ll stroll through the beautiful gardens of a new heaven and a new earth with Him, and the days will never end.

God Bless you, and have a great week-end!

Keep on Keeping on

We’ve  all had times, when the going gets tough
The smooth ride suddenly, feels bumpy and rough
The good times are gone, it’s all rather gruff
You let out a sigh and exclaim – “I’ve had enough”

We are all entitled at times, to gripe and to moan
What’s happened to my life, you say with a groan?
My backpack seems weighed down, by a big heavy stone
How do I move away, from this miserable zone?

When a curved ball hits you, and you feel all alone
Remember the good days, when the sun always shone
Go forward in faith, that you’ve already won
Hold to the course, and keep on keeping on

St. Patrick’s Day

 I am moved by the true story of St. Patrick, because it  is one of great perseverance and faith, and it is an inspiring example of how rewarding it can be to make a difference in the lives of others.

St. Patrick, whose real name was Maewyn Succat, was not Irish, but English. He was born to a wealthy Christian family,  and as an early teen, he was kidnapped and taken to Ireland to become a slave. His name was changed to Patrick. As a slave in Ireland, he witnessed the pagan practices of the Irish, but remained true to his Christian faith, and it is said that he prayed up to a 100 times a day.

One day Maewyn escaped and took the long journey back to his home in England. After many years,  he developed a deep desire to return to Ireland as a missionary. He taught the people about God and advised them not trust in pagan superstitions. He used the three leafed clover, the shamrock, to explain the Trinity,” Three in One”, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Patrick introduced Christianity to Ireland, and after 30 years of evangelism, he died on March 17,  461 AD. After his death he became known as St. Patrick and March 17th has been named a holiday in honor of him.

  St. Patrick’s Day is about the faith and sacrifice of a man who shared his faith, and the love of God, with a nation…and for that we remember him today!

No Weapon

No weapon formed against me
Shall prosper, it won’t work.

GOD will do what He said He will do
He will stand by His Word, He will come through

No weapon formed against me
shall prosper, it won’t work.

GOD will do what he said
He will do, He’s not a man ,that He should lie

He will come through

Oh, I won’t be afraid of the arrows by day,
From the hand of my enemy.
I will stand my ground with the LORD on my side
For the snares they have set will not succeed.

No weapon formed against me
Shall prosper, it won’t work.

Isaiah 54:17

Emergency Contact

One morning, as I sat in the waiting room at my doctors office, I heard the receptionist ask an elderly man for his information as he signed in for his appointment. It was very quiet, as we were among the first few patients of the day.  She proceeded to ask all of the usual questions and then she asked. “Emergency contact?” to which he mumbled an inaudible response. She repeated the question very loudly, “Who is your emergency contact?” And he replied, “No one.”  “NO ONE AT ALL?!” she said, still speaking loud enough for all of us to hear. “No one” he replied softly. My heart sank for this man…

How sad that there was no one to be contacted in the event that something bad would happen to him.

I dropped my head and began to think about not having anyone to call, when you really needed them, and I thought about what a blessing it is to have loved ones who care. Almost immediately I thought of how much the LORD loves and cares for us, and how even if there is no one we can call in the case of an emergency, or in times of loneliness, He is always there. He always cares. And when we think that we have no one, we are never alone.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” and

“… He has said, I will never leave thee,

nor forsake thee.”

Psalm 46:1 and Hebrews 13:5

Precious

“He cuts out rivers among the rocks; and his eye sees every precious thing.”

 Job 28:10

Trust In God

“The best is yet to come… He will not fail you.”

“And they that know thy Name will put their trust in Thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.”

Psalm 9:10

Quiet Place

“Come ye yourselves apart into a quiet place,

and rest a while…”

Mark 6:31

Right Around the Corner

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat,

 and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

Genesis 8:22

Through The Storm

O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home.

Under the shadow of thy throne,
still may we dwell secure;
sufficient is thine arm alone,
and our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
or earth received her frame,
from everlasting, thou art God,
to endless years the same.

A thousand ages, in thy sight,
are like an evening gone;
short as the watch that ends the night,
before the rising sun.

Time, like an ever rolling stream,
bears all who breathe away;
they fly forgotten, as a dream
dies at the opening day.

O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come;
be thou our guide while life shall last,
and our eternal home

Isaac Watts
