Delay Does Not Mean Denied

Waiting for an answer to prayer can be hard sometimes, but I’d just like to share that although it seems that there  may be a delay, it doesn’t mean that your request has been denied. In fact, it has been my experience that after what seemed to be a great delay, I was blessed far and away more than I was asking for in the first place!

Here’s an example from  John 11:1-44

A request for healing is brought to Jesus. “…A certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha… Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

Jesus responds with a delay. ” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.” Then, after finally arriving in Bethany, Lazarus having been dead 3 days,

Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead.  ” He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”

And he who had died came out,,.. “

“Are you praying for something, and there seems to be a delay in receiving your answer? Just remember that God is working all things together for your good, and He is able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that you may ask or think… So hold on, the answer’s on its way, and it promises to exceed your expectations!”  :)

  1. Amen and amen! It is difficult for us sometimes to ‘wait’, yet it is during these times of waiting (if we use it to truly seek after our Lord’s heart) He will teach us His greatest lessons for our lives – deepen our intimacy with Him – strengthen our faith.

  2. Amen, I know what you mean! I’m going through one of those times myself right now, so what you’ve written encourages me!
    Thanks for sharing.:)

  3. This post is a great reminder of the importance of being patient I’ve been so weary lately and tired of the way things in my life have been going, I was beginning to even feel too sad and emotionally drained to do anything but this has reminded me that I need to patiently seek God and believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks for sharing!

  4. Thank YOU for sharing. You’ve helped me a lot by reminding me about the importance patience in waiting for the LORD to do His wonders.
