“When you sense that your dark night is one of pregnancy and oceanic return,
You could react accordingly and be still.
Watch and wonder.
Take the human embryo as your model.
Assume the fetal position, emotionally and intellectually.
Be silent.
Float in your darkness, as if it were the waters of the womb,
And give up trying to fight your way out or make sense of it.”
Thomas Moore
This is interesting. I’m wondering if the writer meant “pregnant” with thought. It really is just what I needed to hear. I’ve been doing some experimental things to heed God’s call and add peace and tranquility in my life. This quote proved helpful today…so THANK YOU!
Thank you, and “yes” I think the word pregnancy here can mean thought, or an expectation of any number of things that we are waiting for God to do in our lives. I’m glad this post was helpful.
Peace and Blessings to you! :)
