This is holy week, and as I thought about of how Jesus cleansed the temple,  I started thinking about how, once we commit our lives to Christ, our bodies become the temple of the Holy Spirit.

In Psalm 51:1, David prays;

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me…”

He asked the LORD to come in and cleanse his temple, (“Create in me a clean heart”), and once his temple, was cleansed, he wanted the LORD to renew a right spirit within him.

This week, as I remember the events leading up to the crucifixion, I reflect on how Christ “cleansed the temple”, and how, because of His love, and by His blood, we too can be made clean, and by His Holy Spirit,  a right spirit is renewed within us.
