Delay Does Not Mean Denied

Delay Does Not Mean Denied…

Waiting for an answer to prayer can be hard sometimes, but I’d just like to share that although it seems that there  may be a delay, it doesn’t mean that your request has been denied.

In fact, it has been my experience that after what seemed to be a great delay, I was blessed far and away more than I was asking for in the first place!

Here’s an example from  John 11:1-44, where Jesus raises Lazarus from the Dead:

First, a request is brought to Jesus.

“Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

Next,  Jesus responds with a delay.

“When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was.”

Then, after finally arriving in Bethany, Lazarus having been dead 3 days, Jesus comforts Martha with these words, “I am the Resurrection and the Life, he who believes in me shall never die… Do you believe this?”

And then Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead.

(Answering their prayer in a greater way than they ever expected!)

“…They took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

“Are you praying for something, and there seems to be a delay in receiving your answer? Just remember that God is working all things together for your good, and He is able to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that you may ask or think… So hold on, the answer’s on its way, and it promises to exceed your expectations!”  :)

The Commenter Award

Thank you, Juliana, simplyjuliana.wordpress.com, for nominating me for the Commenter Award. It’s been a pleasure to read and comment on your posts, and I’m happy to be among those who enjoy your blog. This is a new award for me, and  the guidelines are a little different this time which makes it fun! So, here we go:

Find your Top Recent Commenters on your site stats page on the bottom, right corner. If you do not see this, click on the Screen Options in the top, right corner and be sure that “Comments” is checked. If  you are good about responding to every comment, then you will be the first one in the list.

Pass this award on to the next six commenters on the list.

Nominate one more person who is either:

A brand new commenter on your blog,

The very last comment you have received (most recent), or

The one who has posted your most favourite comments.

The seventh nomination is your choice, so please let us know why you chose them.

And now, I’m happy to introduce my Top Six Commenters!

She’s always on the go, cycling  to new and exciting places, as she passes on her experiences through her pictures and her posts.  It was so exciting to see a little picture pop up on my screen for the very first time, and to read her comment when I first began blogging. It was so encouraging and I’ll always appreciate it!

7. Thanks Anita @ traveldestinationbucketlist.com

Finally, a Special Thank You to everyone who has ever “liked” or commented on this blog. Your encouragement and input are greatly appreciated!
